Fastest way to upload 1GB

The quickest way is to set up your PC as an FTP server so that he can download at the same time as you uploading.

The easiest way is to use something like rapidshare or the adrive site but uploading 1GB could take a while depending on your connection./

I've got Virgin 10meg BB and other end is about 2 meg

IRC? Internet relay chat?

Edit: is it significantly faster than MSN, current ETA on MSN is 12 hours

yer irc will use yer maximum upload so program like mIRC both users just join same server n channel n transfer.

The speed of the broadband doesn't reflect the upload speed iirc; I'm pretty sure it only refers to download speed. We have 10Mb Virgin here too, but I'm sure on the speed tests it said the upload was less than 1Mb.

750Kbits/sec = about 75KBytes/sec ?? at the moment we are getting 25 Kbytes/second mate

hmm. But we are 100 meg in now.....

You are on 10mbit and should be getting 512kbit which gives you a maximum theoretical upload speed of 64KB/s.

If you're downloading anything at all you will not be able to upload at your full potential.
