Fia battery kill switch

Bought an fia approved kill switch for my clio and its come eith some form of resistor ,iv been told its todo with the alternator,now also my dads said the we need to run a cable for the ignition and to the alternator too. Is that correct ???

Did it not come with instructions/circuit diagram?

It needs to cut the main battery +ve feed, the ignition and then earth the alternator through that resistor.

Something like that any way. Go on the manufacturers website and see if there are instructions for it. Failing that try googling FIA kill switch circuit diagram.

The resistor stops the alternator from frying itself if you turn off the kill switch with the engine running.
