Files not saving

Not encounterd this before.

When i save a file from the internet off a website, whether its an mp3, even a file for packet tracer, itll literally dissapear into thin air lol.


Any idea why this might be happening ?

Using vista and a copy of ESET Busniess edition. Which is terrible IMO.

What location are you saving it to? Any chance it is going to another profile desktop or something?

i have the same problem, file just dissapears into thin air, and then when you search for the file name you get a kinda a ghost file saying it was there, takes the piss.

on msn i can send or recieve files, but if they are in a sharing folder it works???

sounds weird...check your download folder within your profile...is it there?

get rid of eset imo... best av for VISTA I M O is Mcafee oddly enough, i've tested most of them too...

Would never have thought of using that. ESEt is a bit crappy IMO.

Saving them to my desktop. Or wherever tbh its the same.

Mega frustrating, i think theres something in my "legit" copy of Vista tbh. Just reinstalled and formatted and its still doing it.


Wont be anything to do with UAC or search indexing will it ? Ive turned them both off.

Lot of trouble installing things like AVG (Free and legit) and i cant install the fix thing that windows do for it.


Im currently getting another "legit" copy of vista through my phone wire now, hoping this wont be retarded.





Ive used Hijack this to see whats what, getting some O13 - Gopher Prefix: shite which it doesnt seem to like. (with the fresh install and the old one ffs)
