I thought I'd get this thread going as there's a bit of work going into it and I'd like some opinions on future plans etc. I bought this from a member on here a few weeks ago and just getting round to sorting a few bits. The car has been registered as a Cat D at some point and need a bit of TLC to get it right. I think its had a rear quarter at some point and the paint job they did down the driver's side was not the best. Since then it's had a new door from another Trophy which shines like a rose between two thorns.
Inside, the Recaro's are spot on and everything works as it should. It's very dirty though and judging from the seatbelts Albert Steptoe was a previous owner. The back seats are pretty disgraceful as well. I have some half leather ones on the way so the car will be looking a lot better in the near future. Also ordered the dash trim/gear insert from a 172 to brighten the place up.
The car came with a 197 steering wheel which looked very nice but something just didn't feel right. I've replaced it with a knackered 182 whhel for the time being - I have a Snappy re-trim on order.
It's a cracking drive though. I thought the 172 handled well but this is just incredible. Absolutely loving it...just need to iron out the bad bits.
And the pics...
New splitter and tyres are in order - but what do you make of the bolts?
The bad bits...
The paint -
The rear seats - ultimate pov spec
The front seats are good though!
And with the dear 172...that's for sale by the way...
Thanks for looking!
