Finally buying a G220

  Shed.
Right im guna do it. Had a look all over tbh.

Ive got my eyes set on www.polished bliss . co . whatever

I want the following shizzle:

Blackfire Long Lasting Tyre Gel1 £12.72

Poorboys Wheel Sealant1 £10.17

Advanced G220 Machine Polishing Kit1 - Pad Options: Meguiars 165 mm - 1 x Cutting, 1 x Polishing, 1 x Finishing £151.36

Meguiars Speed Glaze (80)1 £11.02

Meguiars Dual Action Cleaner Polish (83)1 £13.49

German Applicator Pad

Megs Aggresive Clay

Will this be okay ? Im asuming that this is the cheapest place, so we get discount like we do on cyc and i4detailing ? The G220 comes with the following:

Advanced G220 Machine Polishing Kit

This kit offers all of the essential equipment you need to tackle major polishing tasks both large and small - simply pick the pad option best suited to the polishes you intend to use on your car. Please note that polish and pad suitability vary considerably between paint types and makes of car. If you are unsure what polishes and pads you require, please do not hesitate to contact us for advice.

This kit comprises...
1 x Meguiars G220 Dual Action Polishing Machine
1 x 3M 3434 High Performance Masking Tape
1 x 70 mm Dual Action Flexible Backing Plate
1 x 100 mm CCS Technology Light Cut Spot Pad
1 x Ultimate 100 mm Finishing Spot Pad
plus one of the pad options given below...

Meguiars 165 mm - 1 x Cutting, 1 x Polishing, 1 x Finishing

Am i right in thinking this will be the same as buying a G220 anywhere else, ie, does this include or exclude anything cyc does etc etc etc...

Thanks for the help

Sounds good Michael.

I've bought stuff from PolishedBliss before and the service and packaging is top notch.

You might want to add a decent sealant or wax on your list to protect that lovely glossy finish youre gonna get with the Megs 83 & 80.;)

He he;) Nice one.

If you're used to the ball ache of Extra Gloss Protection for the £13 its gonna cost, I'd recommend you add a bottle of Jeffs Werkstatt Acrylic Jett Trigger sealant. You can ONLY get this from PolishedBliss.

Spray on, wipe clear, buff to a high gloss - so so simple to use.

I can do the whole car in twenty minutes, then apply another coat a few hours later.:approve:

AJT is a good shout.

Not sure if Polished Bliss do a discount like Matt does at i4detailing, I would drop him a PM as a forum sponser he may be able to do a good deal.

I never got on well with Megs pads by PC, not used a G220 so can't comment, so I would probably get one with a Sonus Pad set, a full set of 4 inch spot pads ( a must on a Clio) and Menzerna IP and FF. Think Tim had a package with Menzerna at CYC.

In an ideal world you could do with a couple of polishing and finishing pads. I'd order one of each extra.

  16v Dynamique
Yes pads do become caked with polish, but also if you drop one, dirt gets ingrained, you need to try a different polish with the same pad etc. You canonly use one type of polish on a pad until it is washed again.

  106 GTi
why ? because the pad gets clogged up ?

Mailnly as you may need to use different polishes on the same grade of pads. In case you get dirt on the pad is the other main one.

Get a small brush like the Megs detailing one to remove build up of polish in use.

Okay, they offer a 10% discount if you spend in excess of £250

On the list is:

G220
1 cutting megs pad, 2 polishing megs pads and 2 finishing megs pads.
3m masking tape
Flexi Backing plate
100mm CCS Light cut spot pad
Ultimate 100mm finishing spot pad.

#80 and #83
German Applicator
JEFFS Werkstatt Acrylic Jett trigger
Blackfire tyre gel
Megs agressive clay.

Totals £254.11 then a deduction of 10%

IMO thats a lot cheaper than buying anywhere else.

The g220 with five 6" pads and the 2 100mm pads and masking tape and 80, 83 and a backing plate is £220.

How do i use the jeffs then ?

Wash, clay, wash, polish with g220, spray jeffs on, wipe off, wait a few hours, spray and wipe again, wait 12 hours, apply dodo juice, wait another 12 hours, apply more dodo juice. ???

Need to use Klasse AIO/Prime/SRP before the Jeffs as it won't bond to the oils in the #80.

AJT can be layered on coat after another straight away and you dont have to wait anytime really before adding the Carnuba over it.

Need a spot polishing pad too IMO.

  Shed.
which is a spot pad then, link me to one on polished bliss please.

Should i stick with srp seing as ive already got that and i like the stuff ???

Or try lime prime lite ?

You always told me that egp was useless if you applied wax onto it without leaving it 24 hours....

  106 GTi
Yeap Jeffs in not EGP though. That is the benefit of the AJT, no curing time.

I doubt EGP or Jeffs will bond to the Lime Prime.

You just need to find a spot pad in polishing grade. I would be tempted to buy the full set of Sonus SFX spot pads from some where else.

  Shed.
Right ok, i will stick with srp then. There are 2 spot pads in both a cutting and polishing grade included in the megs pack im buying.

Whats the deal with megs pads then ? From what ive seen and heard theyre very good.

So to recap....

Wash - clay - wash - polish with 83 and 80 - Srp - Jeffs - Dodo Juice

Oh right you post says

100mm CCS Light cut spot pad
Ultimate 100mm finishing spot pad.

No mention of a Polishing grade one.

They worked no where near as well by PC as they do Rotary. The Sonus SFX pads and the Menzerna Polishing Pads ones work much better for me.

its ironic how when you want to buy somehting theres always a f**king problem. CYC isnt working, and polished bliss wont let me buy a G220 because the site has a problem. Fan bloody tastic

Do you find any problem in the Jeffs bonding after Menz IP & FF Rich?

I have been using the Menz combo and last time used Jeffs straight after the Menz. Seems ok, has two coats on now.

You will need a light cutting pad in the spot sizes for sure, the most used one for me.

I always use SRP or Klasse AIO first, never risked it directly over the Menz.

Ah, only done a couple of panels on the missus's car.

Last time I did the Clio i used Sonus paintwork cleaner before the EGP on the bonnet and Victoria Concourse on the rest of the bodywork.

Did it last July and its still beading well.:D
