First Time Detailing

Decided it was about time a started to look after the paint work on my car and treat it to a bit of detailing.

Started off by asking silly question in this thread

Then went out and got some Autoglym products. Halfords are doing a 3 for 2 offer so got some SRP, EGP and some Shampoo. Also got some decent microfibres rather than using old rags as i used to!!

Results after washing and SRP...These were only taken on my phone so doesn't look as good as in real life!

Then Cleaned the wheels and dressed them etc First time in about 6 months i have bothered to properly clean the wheels!!!

Next up is the windows and then interior as again that hasn't been cleaned for months

Looks 10 times better although i think i may need to clay it soon as there's soo much s**t on the front bumper etc that I can't get rid of. Either way next week will have another wash and another coat of SRP, then apply some EGP! Shiney shiney

Followed by getting rid of the Oval Magnex and fitting a Yozza Race System and a Gray Motorsport's Decat

Lowered 40mm I think. Box is still at parents house even though i moved out 6 months ago!! My only gripe is that whatever they are (eibachs i think) they are bloody stiff! Feel everything. Plus the exhaust scrapes in multi-storey car parks which is a bit embarrassing

Tel me about it! I brought both the exhaust and springs off someone on here back in 2005 i think.. at first i liked it for the sound but i got tired of how it looked after about a week!! But just left it on ther.

Yozza Race system will be on middle of next week!

Glad to hear that you're losing the exhaust, a little on the large side imo.

While you're at it I'd lose the weights off of those rims too.:dapprove:

I too discovered the 3for2 offer on Autoglym in Halfrauds the other day so after reading a few threads on here decided to stock up on SRP and EGP as well as a few other things to get me started. In the past my car has just had a wash with any cheap shampoo and a cheapo sponge...never again after reading the detailing forums on here!!!

My Monaco is getting a good seeing to as soon as i get a day off that isn't raining (i've been waiting for 2 weeks now!)

It's probably really sad but as nice as your car looks the first thing i noticed was the balancing weights on the rim! And obviously the Euro Tunnel hanging off the back.

Good luck with the detailing mate, it's nice to know i'm not the only person who's just discovering it

Looks nice that, the wheels, go to a proper place and get those steel wheel balances off, they ruin the alloys. Get them changed for the sticker ones on the inside so it doesnt look horrible like that.
