Fitting 172 cup rear brake discs

Hi all,

My mate is having his 172 cup rear brake discs changed, he has got the discs and they do not have the abs ring on. He has just had a call from the mechanic saying that the discs should have an abs ring on, because the ones on the car now have the ring. I didn't think the cups had abs or is it there for show? :dapprove:

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

if genuin parts they come with the ring, but doesnt matter if its a 172 cup as its non abs

so basically its just there for show on the cup?

Cup's didn't come with abs, but 99% sure that the rear discs are the same on cup and non cup versions. I'm sure you can either knock the abs ring off the discs or just leave at is at won't affect it either way.

doesn't matter, you can run whatever on a cup (proper cup ie 172 cup)
