Fitting Alpine iDA-X100 Head Unit

Hi, got one of these for my new 172 that I've had for a few weeks now. I had the X001 in the Subaru that I sold which was really good, so looking forward to this being fitted.

Just a question thoough: in the Subaru the glovebox was basically a hinged shelf which allowed you to just feed the wire through the gap at the back and have your iPod in the glovebox. In the 172 though the glovebox is entirely self-contained, and it looks like there's no other way to fit it other than drilling a hole through the side of the glovebox.....

Does anybody else have an iPod Head Unit fitted? If so, where is your iPod and how did you fit it.....

You have to drill the glovebox if you want the ipod cable in there i'm afriad.

Thought as much.....don't really mind doing that though if necessary, just wondered if there was another way that's all.
