I upgraded to Brembo HC's and DS2500's late last year. They were squealing slightly so I fiddled about with them which only made it worse.
I filed the ends (several times) and the pads have just about the right amount of play in the carrier. Copper grease also didn't seem to do much. I didn't bother me after a while as I could barely hear it with music and windows up.
However today I had a window down and it is quite bad! But only under light braking, under heavy braking it's fine.
I know it's not advised however as a last resort I'm going to refit the shims to see if it makes any difference. I've cleaned them up a bit and corrected a few slight bends from where I pulled them off last time.
Do they need to be stuck on to the pads? if so which adhesive should I be using?
My memory around the caliper isn't too good! My logic tells me that as the shims are a 'U' shape (on it's side) that the 'open end' of the 'U' will be pointing towards the back of the car as opposed to the front as this seems to be the only way for them to actually fit.
Any other tips are welcome.
Thanks.
