Fixing 172 Front Seats

First problem is my passenger seat doesn't slide forward when you pull the handle to let some one in the back but it does tilt forward.
I read something on here before about fixing it but cant find it, any ideas?
Sure its something to do with a cable?

Next question is can you buy the little round plugs that slot into the handles on each side of the seats?
The pins on one of them has snapped so the handle keeps falling off because the plug pops out.
I saw a little kit you could buy from renault ages ago to fix seats. Any idea on part number and cost?

First problem, it's a 2 stage mechanism on a single cable. The cable goes to the tilt mechanism first then onto the slide one. If it's come away from it's second fixing then the seat will tilt but not slide. Providing nothing has snapped then it should simply be a case of getting your hand up the back of the seat, finding the end of the cable and reattaching it.

i have 2 passenger runners and an inside drivers one Rich if you needed replacements. I dont know how to repair yours as ive seen it happen.

i dont think its a cable issue as mine did the same thing. fold the seat forward and check for a little clip which runs on the outer runner which SHOULD move when you press the lead clip. I checked the passeneger Vs driver and found the passenger one was stuck but the drivers one moved freely along the teeth. I tried playing with the passenger one and broke the arm off the lead bit which caused the full plastic bit to move again. This then allowed the seat to move properly but it wouldnt lock back down from folding without the lead bit.
Now the broken bit it placed back on the slider which still moves and altho its broken it seems to work ok still. Not sure if this can be replaced singularly or u have to change the runner ?

i had this problem yesterday,took 2 mins to sort,just needed to reattach the arm that you pull to make the seat run

same prob with mine doesnt slide forward but tilts, doesnt slide forward usin the lever under the seast either so will this mean tht it broke or it a case of reattachin the cable?

tedge maybe a penny or something has got in the runners and blocked it from moving? I managed to fix mine last night, a pin had fallen out from the runner nearest to the door, it had a green coloured dot on the end. It was pretty obvious it was missing after comparing with the drivers side seat, although drivers side pin has a blue dot.

it the passenger seat inside runner tht seems jammed, runner nearest door wants to work. how would i be best goin about checkin if it jammed?

right, mine isnt working as well as I'd hoped due to it being stuck between up / down last nite and without locking in aeither position.
The problem is this little fella (see pic)

Originally it got stuck 'mid tooth' which was the cause for it not setting properly. In my haste i broke it with a screwdriver and my problem yesterday was that the big bit at the end was about 2 inch further forward than the slidey clip bit at the back.
Can this bit be replaced and if so how trhe hell does it come out as i couldnt shift it.
(I have a dreaded feeling that the seat may have to be removed which itself looks a pain in the arse...)

there is also another problem if that is fine.the arm you pull up that moves the seat back and forward can also pop out of the runner on either side,check whether the arm is located in the correct positions,solved mine

local dealer can only solve this by selling me what appears to be the subframe / sliding assembly for a snip @ 170 quid so i think its a trip to the local scrappy !

i had this with my chari for AGES it pisses me off! i took the lever off so ppl stop atemptin to move the chair back. when they used to pull the lever the chair slides back and forth and wont lock. it eventually locks after loads of slidin but wont go right to the back. i want to lock it at the back plz help. the side lever works tho so people can enter, but its really stiff and the drive side broke cause of me gettin angry lol
