Fixing a very slightly kerbed wheel ( i only had them refurbed last month!)

  Ph1 172.
This morning i bumped a kerb at about 10 mph and bumped my new refurbished gloss black wheel. The kerbing is not down to the metal and has only taken what looks like laquer and a coat of paint off, exposing a white under coat. The kerbing is around about 1/6 of the rim.

Am I best to just sand it back slightly with fine paper, mask the area, give a few coats of gloss black and then relaquer the damaged bit?

Thanks,

Snails
