FK's Dont fit!

Got my coilovers through last night and they dont fit!

Ive got a 1.4 dynamique and the only option of coily's for mk2's were either for the 1.2 16v or 172, and was told that the 1.2 would fit! But do they f**k!

the width for the bolts at the front are 4mm narrower! and since i put the back ones on first, spent nearly all day messin about width it and now its no different to when i started lol.

Rant over

  Arctic Blue Clio 182
Join the club lol. I also have the same problem. I was sent some 52mm bolt spacin shocks when i need 58mm. Head wreckin stuff. What size is yours?

not sure what the distance between the bolt holes are supposed to be but the the hole bracket dont fit around the bit that goes in the bracket, if you know what i mean!

You've got a rare set the 52mm ones are very rare the common sizze is 58mm they supply.
you can just go buy some 52mm hubs if you want there a direct fitment.

right, on the bottom of the coilover, the distance between the top and bottom holes are 52mm, and the space between the left and right plate is about 23mm, and bit that slots between them is 28mm wide i think, hence why it wouldnt fit

dont know what the distance between the bolt holes on the hub is though, didnt measure it!

i was told that FK only supplied them in a 58mm fitment. you can resell them and buy another set, or ring john and see what he can do :)

yea but these fk's are 52mm fitment, and by the sounds of it i need a 58! right?? anyway, guna ring john on monday because by the time i realised waht was up, it was too late to ring him.

And if fred reads this and wants to shed some light on the situation...feel free lol

with the exception of changing the hubs, or changing the coilovers theres not much you can do :(

well i will have to see what john says on monday, was gutted to swap the back springs back over, looked sweet when id finished with it! lol

been thinkin about it, would it be easier to change the bolt spacing on the car, because i really dont fancy waiting another 5 weeks to get different coilovers!

Anyone know how much id need to swap over? its rainin now n cant b arsed to take wheel off n av a look!

^^ if you bought them off John I am sure he will sort it out for you ..

I couldn't take mine back as they were ordered as a favour so I had to sell them on here :( ...

They will be worth the wait honestly mate don't go trying to mod bits .. well I wouldn't imho ..

Maz :)

Jsut swop the hubs £60 or so your lookignf rot different 52mm spaced ones dead easy to chnage only an extra 4 or 5 bolts to undo depending on if you chance the bottom ball joint. Would only take a few minutes extra.
Ben_P might have some 52mm hubs though might be worth PMing him.

I had the same problem with my H&R coilovers, they wouldnt fit, took around 6 months to totally get them to fit the way i wanted and ended up with a 172kit on the car lol !

will this spacing hub size problem occur on my mk2 ph2 1.2 03 plate clio, or is doddy just one of the rare ones. plus as his got a 1.4 ??

Give me a ring now mate, will see what i can sort but i dont honestly remember saying they will fit a 1.4

There are 3 seperate part numbers for the Clio B, one just says Clio B, i think i ordered that one (you would think it would fit all models as the 1.2 and 2.0 are specified seperately).

As most of you know by now, im not out to rip anyone off or mislead so i will do my best to sort this for you :)

ok, think this is nearly sorted now lol.

It wasnt john who had told me the 1.2's would fit the 1.4 if i made it sound like that earlier!! Was someone else, and i ordered them online so havent speaken to john until today.

So got three options really, change hubs, sell these and order the right ones lol, or swap these with fk which might end up costing the most money! will have to look into it anyway

It shouldn't all Mk2 phase 2's run the 58mm bolts although some early 1.2's of Mk2 2 spec ran the 52mm hubs just to be difficult.
