Flatting lacquer?

I've never worked with lacquer before just attempted spraying and lacquering some side skirts I've had knocking about but the lacquer in the light looks dimply

Is there anyway on flatting the lacquer like you would paint

Yes I am using rattle cans and yes I can get a better finish with a spray gun... Spare me the crap :)

Thanks

How bad are the dimples? surface or deeper?

If they're in the surface like dirt then use some 1200/1500 wetndry, and then bring back with a cutting compound like G3 and some Finesse to restore the shine. If' it's deep then i'd start again from scratch.

You can get an o.k finish with a spray can, best bet is to put the can in some hot/boiling hot water for a few mins to get some good pressure in the can, this will help maintain pressure and aid consistency.

Also if possible try and do it in your shed or sheltered/non windy area. A wet floor helps keep dust to a minimum.

Cheers Kev

I'll see what it's like in the morning its "curing" at the misses at the moment in a very warm conservatory so hopefully most might settle out I think the cans where crappy to be fair. I'll see what a bit of flatting with wet and dry will do if not its getting bumpers and wings sprayed next weekend so I might aswell throw them on the list lol being done professionally I'm sick of having a shabby car
