About time you updated the mileage on your thread title too ;)

Yes mate. 139,900 now IIRC ;)

I found this on lowering the steering column..

Process is simple

Remove steering column surround, dash top and clocks
Undo 4 bolts from underneath
Use 4 new bolts and screw in from the top.
add nuts to secure then use a nut either side of the steering column mount (I also used washers) to tighten up.
Make sure its all straight.

Sounds easy enough.

Spot on, makes a huge difference

I think I took the flamer to far to use as my only car, though I don't use it for work etc. I just love the feel of the bucket seats and it being raw, I probably should resist or compromise it part way.

Yeah. I would never go this far again TBH. I would just strip out the back and pretty leave the front, except for a set of Recaro Pole Postions/ SPG's.

Looks awesome Fletch bud. I need to steal your 2118s. Let me know which Trackdays you're looking at when its finished and we'll try to get a good group of the SC lot along.

I had a new centre section with silencer put on the flamer yesterday, miss the noise but it just wouldn't have passed stricter places like Bedford. What else is in the pipeline for the fletchbus? Lol at taking it too far, you were egging me on last time! We do need to get the heatgun to mine though...

When did you think that it was too far Fletch? I'm pretty stripped now (no carpet / sound deadening / plastic windows / etc), and i dont mind it.

And a dremel and stanley knife ;)

Probably when he used a stanly blade to get the carpet out ;)

LOL

Me: Errr, why have you got a stanley knife Fletch?

Fletcher: Cutting it out, not going back in anyway.

Not sure what trackdays I am doing just yet mate maybe the Renault Sport day at Brands Hatch on the 10th April and some sessions at Combe for spring performance action day. I'll keep you posted though Oli.

You'll have to pop over to mine somewhen mate we'll get the heatgun out and remove those heavy tar patches ;)

I don't think I've taken it too 'far' just the car is looking a bit shabby inside. Once I get some door cards in give it a good tidy up I'm sure I'll feel differently. Like yours.

Yeah..lol

Re-reading over but how much does the Aircon Kit actually weigh?
The stock on im on about :)?

Not sure about the weight of the aircon. The lightweight kit saves 16kg!

And a dremel and stanley knife ;)

IIRC I was being very impatient that day

I do agree - with stripped cars you need to keep on top of how the interior is - with a normal car, having some dirt on the carpets doesn't show - a dirty stripped interior looks terrible lol, but on the flip side a clean one looks fantastic

Thats exactly what i would do, i wouldnt even bother with a passenger bucket again as people dont seem to grasp harnesses ha

I sprayed my ph1 satin black, used to touch up the spray every other week to keep it looking decent. Was easier than hoovier it lol

Seat looks about the same height as mine on standard OMP frames/side mounts! I've used a material called foamalux for my door cards fletch, its good stuff! I just need to make the rear cards and one to cover the boot! Hopefully getting the welding sorted for my cage this weekend so i'll probably be giving the inside a lick of paint to smarten things up.

Looking good fletch, but clear that tar off! ;)

  Never above 25mpg
Looks really good Fletch! Haven't seen it in a while looks like you just need some company sponsors down the side now ;)

It'll look 100x better once the interior is finished, sprayed all one colour etc.

Now I've stripped mine I want to re-spray inside as its not been lacquered and would prefer it to be shiny. Must keep reminding myself that the car is for driving not polishing lol.

I can see you ending up with a proper interior respray like Sam's Saxo LOL

I hated the look of mine when i first got shot of the interior. Absolutely love it now, with a few little bits fletch the fletchbus would look great inside. Let me know if you want a hand with anything, did a full wire tuck inside mine. Here is a thread that i got all my inspiration from, amazing attention to detail in a stripped car:

I had a OMP subframe before this X-low rep is so much lower mate. I'll try and get some better pics of it soon.

where did you buy the fomalux from mate?

Yes I do need to clean the tar up.

Cheers Laurence.

I'll have a look through that later mate, cheers.

I might need to borrow you and your expertise for a hand with some bits and pieces Sam.

Finished work early today due to the snow, cold weather.

Dash off, and plastics around the steering wheel

I removed the 4 bolts holding the steering column in place, but didn't have the right screws nuts bolts/ washers. Looks like I'll be able to get the steering wheel quite a bit lower though :)
