fly by wire throttle connector?

Hi there, had a problem on my phase 2 172 recently, its only happened twice but when i start the car it revs to 2000rpm and stays there, the car wont rev. So i unplugged the connector on the back of the throttle motor and there was no clip, it just slid off, surely this is broken? thing is i cant see the thing to see if a piece is missing. I fiddled with the wires and plugged it back on and the car was fine and revved as normal. Is this a common problem? If so how easy is it to replace?

should be a tab that locks the plug in. I'm not surprised to see them damaged though as they can be awkward to unplug. never replaced one though
