Foam lance - falling apart

  "Navy" N17 TWO
I've had my foam lance a right-while now, and not been used for every wash but it has been used. When it is fitted & going it is great :)

When I got it, it would leak at the join and the nozzle flew off a few times thanks to the bearings being loose.

Got it fixed up with some sealing tape and everything seemed to be alright.

Fitting it/taking it off a Karcher gun is a bloody nightmare as it is dead tight, and when you twist the lance the whole lance itself unscrews and falls apart :banghead:

Anyone had this problem with theirs?

Mine hasn't leaked or fallen apart, it does now sit at a funny angle though since it has turned when fixing it to the Karcher.

Have you spoken to where ever you got it from Trev?

Was in CYC group buy?

No it was bought from Elite Car Care, ages ago now as I had my Black dci in its glory at the time lol

Just wondering if any of the CYC or i4Detailing lances had similar problems.

IIRC they were updated since I bought mine as the others have larger bottles on them and possibly better fittings - the bottle on mine is about the size of a 5-alive!

God I remember that black beast Trev, good times mate.

I would suggest a quick email over to them, highly doubt you will get anywhere, but they might show some good will towards another one/replacement?

Christ that has to be a good two/three years ago?

Yeah would be about that - was some cursing/praying done yesterday using it when washing the car before the MOT lol

All worthwhile in the end anyhow

mines tight as a nun's cnut to fit in the karcher. its that tight i just shove it in the end without turning it. yes, a bit brave maybe, but it 'ent budging!

Mine's like that too but without turning it the lance launches itself off the gun when you pull the trigger lol

When i got my foam lance there was a joint was loose and would twist loose and when tightened by hand the bottle would be sideways when in the pressurewasher. So in the end i got my pipe grips, prayed nothing would snap and tighted the bugger up nearly a full turn so it all sat right when in the pressure washer and has been fine since, no leaks etc.

i got mine off ebay, but it looks identical to the CYC and i4d one, when i got it it was really good brass fittings, but it leaked everywhere, i had to dismantle it and put a few turns on the threads with PTFE tape and a good tighten with an adjustable spanner and it was all good. the fit in my karcher and my gfs dads is good not too tight, noticbly tighter than the karchers own fitments but not bad.

It was PTFE tape that I sealed mine up with, fair enough it doesn't leak anymore but it would be great if I could get it onto the gun lol :D

I need to tighten mine up as my bottle is at a really stupid angle. Have just put up with it for now!

mine started leaking at the joint after a few uses and electrical tape solved that problem. As for getting it on and off the gun it depends on the gun itself which vary. First one i had it was easyish to get on/off. Second was IMPOSSIBLE to get off and had to saw it lol. 3rd gun is piece of piss as they have updated it.

i got the autobrite one and used that for nearly 2 years once a week and still going strong except as mentioned above the slight leak

karcher blow chunks. We've replaced our power washer 7 times now (all under warranty). Every bit of it develops a leak at some point.
