what is it with the current TREND to have your lights on half beam and to have your fogs on at the same time at night time!!! i see this more and more and it is the most bizarre thing, in normal conditions fogs do not light up the road more than ten yards, about the same as half strength head lights, so in effect the driver has no vision really except street lights.. is it some fashion thing? like wearing a big scarf with just a skinny t-shirt on a cold day.. i would like to see what these drivers do when they pull off the main high way onto a country lane.. the main lights will be quickly turned on!

people have been doing it for a while, usually young lads thinking it 'looks cool' i suppose. Sometimes it could be that they were left on by accident as its a seperate twist thing in clios.

If i'm behind someone for example in the right hand lane of a dual carriage way alot of ppl pull over to the inside lane to get out of the way of the beam lol. Can see why people do it tho, it is sort of distracting

If the Xenons are as bad as some have mentioned I would seriously suggest taking them in to Renault to check alignment etc. I've been followed by plenty of 172/182s with Xenon's on and its never been dazzling, just looks real nice!

As for foggies, can't stand it myself! Seems to be the thing of choice for people carriers and 4x4s now (that are high enough for it to be a real nuisance) so hopefully the "coolness" will die out sooner or later. I just flash my fogs quickly at them if they are coming towards me, will get the message one day!

I wouldn't even know if my fogs worked, I have never had them on, pointless in my opinion. I guess they look good as a styling thing on a bumper.. (turned off, obviously)

Fogs.... "to be used when foggy". Not for everyday driving!! That's kinda the problem. Dipped beams are more than adequate for night \ dusk use, if they seem dull people should perhaps buy some brighter bulbs (Like the super-brights or whatever). I have and I can see an improvement.

i got pulled and breathalised for having my fogs on one night in my old motor
was peed off cos i had put them on becuse of the terrential rain when i was going down the country lanes and the copper gave me the speil of dazzling oncoming traffic (it woz 2 in the morning and i didnt see any other cars on the road) and i had to go to the station with a producer, it was a pain in the arse because i woz using the fogs for my own safety
he was a prize c*ck tho because he tried to breathalise me twice even tho i passed the first time and interrigated me bout my car and its MOT even tho it was 1 yer old and didnt even need one yet

I go for the flash of my fogs to get their attention, then burn their eyeballs out with my 130w main beam bulbs!!! Makes me feel better.

I think most car mags are to blame as they always photo cars with them on and gomos just copy them.

I don't understand why car companies set foggies up so the fronts come on first, if the rears came on first it would stop wazzocks from doing it as they would get almost everyone full beaming them from behind (oh err). I have never had the need to use my front fogs and I've only used the rear about 3 times for that matter.

If you want lights to piss you off then you should have seen the 4 Cibie Oscar Plus's that were on my old Escort RS Mexico which had PIAA 130W bulds in. They would really upset you.

At the end of the day people will continue to use their fog lights for what ever reason they have so deal with it.
