Still fricking love this game. Best part of it for me is you can just be totally chilled playing it. Something like COD I need to be proper focused and right up by the TV etc, where as this I can just chill and play wherever, check the web while a game is playing, etc. Steam says I've clocked abotu 145 hours of game time now, rolf.
Me and a mate are doing a challenge with Everton to see who can do the best. In my mind they've got a decent squad just lack some depth and don't have much money so selling and having some success is the best way really.
My first moves were to controversially offload Cahill and Fellaini. Got about £18m for the pair and whilst the b*****d board only gave me approx half that back in to the transfer budget that was enough to sign some great youth prospects. I also got Kranjcar on loan too which left me with a decent starting line up but still a worry about the depth. Despite early exits in both the league and FA Cup (still adamant the game boosts the opposition's quality big time in these matches) I was far exceeding expectations in the league and found myself in a cosy 4th spot. After 24 games I was actually 10 points clear of 5th place and dreaming of the Champions League. However we really lost our way after that point and mainly due to a lack of goals. Saha and Sanogo up front just were not firing. In the end we finished 6th which I was happy enough with, I think Champions League would have been too soon but would of still been nice especially the extra money. But a season of Europa should still be a laugh.
Signed about 7 or 8 players ready for the 2nd season. Pretty much all young prospects. Several players I tried to sign had no interest in joining the club so it looks like we're gonna have to secure Champions League football before we can attract the top players. Having said that, I've secured plenty of the young gems of the game that should hopefully see us mount another serious attempt for a top 4 finish.
