Scouts are the first thing I touch on the game tbh, I literally take over as boss and sack the scouts and get as good as I can, a good scout finding great youngsters is all I need really
And lol Andy Carroll got released by Liverpool on my game, I had to laugh
I've tried to sign some better ones but I don't seem to be getting much joy from them with youth prospects. In my United save I was always getting info on the young gems to snap up!
You should set them to do Europe/world for players up to a certain age etc..
For some reason one of my scouts is only finding players at about 20 years max and scouting the world, I didn't even set that for him I just said scout the world, he's just a star
he has found way too many for me to bother trying to sign them all though but there are about 6 with 4 star potential still for me to sign who are about 17/18 years old..Yeah but you can only get a certain level of quality depending on who you are.
Yeah Tevez always gets left out. Was gutted in my Everton save. About half way through 2nd season RVP was transfer listed and in the reserves. Still only 29 and available for £4m! Offer accepted etc, but he's on 120k a week and wanted more than that to come to me FFS :dapprove:
Highest earner on my team is Rooney on 180k
Hernandez is on 60k, and even at contract renewal time is only asking for 65. Bargainz. He scores more goals than Rooney too

Tevez in reserves on mine as well, as well as Kolo Toure and Owen Hargreaves amongst others. Every window he moans about how he wants to leave the club but nothing ever happens, nobody bids for him or anything.
So I thought I'd make a cheeky loan bid for him (at Oldham in league one), as City are my parent club they sorted the wages but he 'laughed off' the idea of joining me on loan. cnut.
Then..Next pre-season, the same is happening, moaning, his agent doing his best to get him moved. Then in the last game of pre-season, I played City, he was named as a sub for the first time in forever, then came on with 20 mins left and got four.
Now he's back in the first team, scoring for fun like nothing ever happened.
Also, I eventually got relegated in my second season, thanks to my shite players - was going to just carry on and take over at a job-less club, but the only ones available were depressingly poor ones with no ambition or money or players. Not doing that again.
So I started again, with oldham. Going well so far, found a fair few gems.

My best game with a poor team was on FM08 (I think?).
Managed Yeovil, who were the favourites to be relegated in League 2.
Got them promoted to League 1 as Champions first season, Promoted to Championship as runners up second season, and then got beaten in the play-offs in my third season. I won 2 Johnston Paint Trophies, made the FA Cup quarters, and a final in the League Cup.

My best ever game was on FM10 for the iPhone. Ended up going up to about 2060ish and I was (as Oldham, naturally) winning everything for fun. My team was full of regens obviously, but they were amazing. I noticed though, some transfers weird transfers started to pop up..
But it resulted in this madness, which I wasn't complaining about..
Then I smashed my phone to bits and lost the save when I upgraded. I nearly cried. Nearly.

Just fired up the Everton save a little earlier and blasted off a few games. Was getting worried the team were bottling our top 4 quest following a 3-3 draw at home to Fulham and then a horrible 1-0 defeat away to struggling Blackburn. But we responded very well by somehow sneaking a 1-0 win away to Arsenal and then rallying to beat United 3-1 at home despite going in 1-0 down at HT! 1st time I've managed to claim victory over United and we ended a 36 game unbeaten strike they were on lol!

Chelsea, City and Liverpool away from home in the last 5 games is horrible and could easily be 0/9 points. So I'm praying we can have a super run and win all the games before that which shouldn't actually be too hard but you just know some fucker will make it tricky lol.

Lol yep that's the 'you will lose' system that seems to crop up every now and again. It's just annoying the way it happens sometimes I think. Like to me, it would have been much more realistic if I'd have beaten Blackburn and lost to Arsenal. Ultimately it's the same 3 points outcome, but I dominated Blackburn (not to mention them getting a player sent off after 55 mins) and couldn't score 4 s**t. I then got dominated by Arsenal and sneaked a 1-0.
Hoping with the players being in good confidence from the 2 last wins we can win all 7 of the next games and get a cushion of 6 points or better going in to the last 5 games. Gonna be a tough ask but 3rd season in and not breaking the top 4 would be disappointing.

I got him! I got Gotze!! Half way though last season I was declaring interest which he played down, and then they would only let him go for £95m, So every now and then I would say I admired him etc, then at the end of the season, after coming 2nd, winning FA cup and CL I declared interest again, he then said he would love a move to arsenal, the bidding began... I then got him for about £50m, a lot of money but he has the best potential out of anyone my scouts have found.
I was then close to signing Cavani, Chelsea and me had offers accepted, but he chose them over me as they offered £5k a week more!! Money grabbing cnut, so I have had to settle with Neymar... Oh well lol!! looking for another CB and then this season should be a good'un!!

Haha your right, but last season Sagna, vermaelen, koscielny and gibbs were like a rock no need to tamper with them. I have a back up right back i bought and maybe could do with a CB but mertesacker and djourou were my cover and they finished the season with around 7.5-8 ratings!!
I found in my United save Rafael and Fabio are accurately portrayed in as much as they're always injured or 80% or something come game time.
Smalling and Jones are an awesome CB pairing.

Santon is a top quality player, if you need someone who can play RB/LB, he is the man to get. Very young at the start of the game, and develops in to a real talent. I'm currently knocking back bids for him from Juventus, Lyon etc for 12mil plus.

Brochetti is a good buy from Rubin Kazan. Cost me ~13mil. Think he actually slightly prefers a central role but he did a more than sufficient job at LB for me at United. Sold him on to Barca for 20mil when he was about 30 too. I love wheeling and dealing! :clown:
Try David Santon. I've taken my rose tinted specs off for that suggestion, he really is as solid as they come.
