Ford Fair 2016

Nothing too glamorous, just some phone snaps I took while wandering around. For those not in the know (it is a Renault forum after all), Ford Fair is the biggest Ford show in Europe and is held at Silverstone.

It's been a few years since I last visited and it's certainly changed a lot. There were a lot less of the 70s/80s/90s cars, replaced with swarms of modern ST/RS models. It's only natural I guess, as new cars attract new people, but some of the owners seem pretty pleb-ish. Endless engine revving does get a bit tiresome. Your car pops a bit when you rev it, well done, do you want a f**king medal? Good day all the same though, I'd definitely recommend a visit if you like your Fords.

Haven't been for about 5 years now. Seems to be a fair few old school stuff. Last time I went, it was mostly Mk1 FRS and Asbo STs. Almost miss my RS2K when I see these.

Perfect weather for it though. Some nice stuff there. The ST area is a fair bit chavvy but it's a good show to go too.

Yeah I know what you mean. I remember going to shows in around 2003-2007 and there were simply hundreds of Zetec-S Fiestas around. The ZSOC was nearly always the biggest stand at any Ford show. Seem to be hardly any left now though, the rot has got to them. Fun little cars though.

I am a total MK5/6 Escort lover. They got such a bad rap from the media but I actually think they are a nice looking car with the right tweaks. I've had loads of modified ones over the years but I'd really like a MK5 RS2000 in the garage, getting quite rare now.

The 6 definitely has a nicer interior and is a nicer car to live with, but the looks of the MK5 steal it for me. Bit more aggressive.
