a bit rushed tbh, but i jumped straight onto a cutting pad with 83, and finished off with 80 on a polishing pad, srp on a finishing pad, jeffs sealant and a coat of supernatural.

Great. My other half's Ka lux is pearl blue and it's a real pain for swirling too but looks great if some time is spent on it, it goes between a blue/purple to a dark navy in the light.
Look forward to seeing the finished result.

where do you get the pads from? I bought some Meg Scratch X recently but im guessing I need a pad or 2?
Anyone got a real simple set of products I can use and in what order? Im a newbie to detailing all ive ever used is Mer etc, leather etc. Also I have a Meg wash mit so im a little on my way

i presume you are doing it by hand ? its a b*****d take it from me. Takes a long time, well worth investing in a machine polisher. you can grab some polishing pads at polished bliss or cleanyourcar.co.uk, google them if you want to.

Ill let rich answer which pads need to be used, i went with the meguirs pads and i hate them, i should have gone for the sonus.

very very nicely done matey. 50/50 shots are superb at showing up the hard graft. Lots of effort will have went into that, as a bonnet can take 2/3 hours to do alone!!

1.5hrs seems excessive tho...You can do the whole bonnet typically in an hour. And that includes a cut and polish...

rough estimate mate and the scratches are pretty deep lol. That included a coat of srp, sealant and wax. Dont really know if it was 1.5 hours.

if it includes wax etc then yeh sounds more accurate.

the paint did look fairly shagged, so alot of time in correcting that
