Forza 2 Put back 2 months!!

  UR R26R.5, VW Golf R
Ahh, what a nightmare :(

April Fool (in May)

Hehe. No, seriously though, my mate got an email from Play.com who claimed that his pre-ordered copy of Forza 2 would hopefully be despatched on 31/05/07. 1 week early! Has anyone who has pre-ordered before received an item a lot sooner than its expected release date?

On ps2 i had one of the smackdowns a week early. But most games you pre-order from game nowadays come 1 day early. Got my ps3 games day before ps3 launched lol

  Focus ST-2
They have already started shipping them out to place's aparently so hopefully it will ship early, loads of people are getting the full retail versions on avforums, already.

Its not really 2 months late, you benders.

I hope we get them early. That would be super :approve:

Be interesting to read reviews on it when it arrives, couldn't get into the first one as much as I thought I would do.

  A4 Avant
I couldn't get into either. I think for me it was because they forced you to use a controller setup that i don't use for other driving games!

k*ob head! ive been playing the demo for weeks now i'm bored i need more tracks, people will have to give me there 360 id's so we can play online,

does everyone here turn everything off? e.g manual gears, no abs and traction control? its so life like after that

  SLK 350
^So life like, because all competitive drivers in Toca/F1 don't have traction control, launch control, stability assistance?

Riiiiiiight :)

well i dont have traction control or abs so yes it handles like my car still kick ass on the demo

That's what I figured

What sort of tool would drive a Gallardo without certain aids anyway. When I drove a Gallardo I was VERY happy to have a small safety buffer to fall back on!

Driver aids sorts the men from the boys IMO. If you dont have the talent to get the car round a track without them all on the stick to the 4WD motors. Where's the skill in ploughing into a corner with way too much speed being able to stamp on the brakes or mash the throttle mid corner with no consequences? stick to the arcade racers if thats your driving style/level of ability.

  Turbo'd MX-5 MK4
all driving aids off, its the only way :) I spend a lot of my time drifting around corners in the Corvette, its awesome.

I always play racing games with the driver aids off too.

It's amazing with the 360 racing wheel. PGR3 isn't great with it, but then the game was done before the wheel was available so that's understandable.

BTCC drivers dont have any aids
F1 Dont have stability Assistance

I always played Gran T with aids off, the amound of people who moan about it not being realistic then you see them playing it and they have Traction and Stability up to the max, n00bs. The new Gran Turismo HD seems to have more tail happy cars with aids off, more realistic, the old ones never stepped out.

I was talking about literally driving a Gallardo, not in some game. They're a beast, and I'd love to see you put one around a track with everything off - you'd be buried 6ft into a tyre wall chap.

I agree that some level of realism is a good thing, but what I'm saying is turning driving aids off in no way makes the games realistic - fact of life, people use them.

Whether you consider that turning driver aids off in a computer games makes you a 1337 driver is another thing.

But surly it makes it MORE realistic than having them all on, we all know its not the real thing.

Anyway its more fun trying to master something that is harder.

  SLK 350
Mack I'm not saying F1 or TOCA uses everyone of them. The point i'm making is supposedly the best drivers in the world have their creature comforts too.

If you don't want driver aids, then ride a motorbike but then even in motoGP the likes of Yamaha/Ducati have some ghey launch control system to keep the front wheel down

Turning driver aids off in PC and console racing games not only makes them more fun but in the majority of cases it makes you faster and lowers your lap time. That's the biggest reason to do so.

Indeed, it hands more control to you the player and adds more difficulty yes, yes realism...well I'd debate that, it depends how well/badly the driver aids are programmed I guess.

And you're making that statement based on what? your personal knowledge of my driving ability?

Dont comment on subjects that your knowledge of which would just about fit on the back of a stamp eh sunshine ;)

I've always run without aids and with a manualk 'box since I started on GT3.

The fact that they've engineered slip angles into the physics engine of FM2 makes me hard - and any kind of ESP is likely to blunt what you could ultimately get out of a smoothly driven and balanced lap.

I will still get truly kicked by some 12 year old with everything turned on though, no doubt about that.

scutch u certainly know how to make a guy worried!!!! hahaha

I always run with manual gears and all drivers aids off. I manages a lap in the F550 with all the aids off and i cant seem to get near it with the abs on. It puts u into a false sense of security on how hard u can push

I think the point is that if you want to see what a car is like on the edge then you would have to driving aids off. How far do you want to go to make it as realistic as possible? By the game but you have to win an in game lottery b4 you can by supercars? By a decent car but can't afford the insurance? It is supposed to be fun at the end of the day and if anyone approaches the game as if they were really driving a 100k+ supercar then there would be some very slow races!

Oh how very dare you...Go drive one and let me know how badly you spin it. Until you drive one I'll be safe in knowing that any knowledge I have to fit on that postage stamp is more than your knowledge of tracking a Gallardo.

Thanks for the sunshine comment too honey blossom :)

I can see the point of manual gears in Forza, if you were good, you could make it go faster, I can see that. I just can't see how turning aids off makes you do quicker laps, I of course await to be proven wrong, as I find it fun hoying it about with no aids

However if you are racing to get the fastest time, surely most people would be quicker with some aids

Also, when I see big powerful cars racing, I can't remember too many of them fishtailing\powersliding about the track, like what ends up happening on these games. Makes it more fun, not more realistic in my opinion

I can smell the Testosterone.

I allways start of with the aids on as I am pussy and dont dedicate much of my life to playing games and I am s**t at them LOL. I still have fin ;)

LOL Loony preaching about handling and you drive a FWD warm hatch. I love you though Inbred f**k pig ;) xx

I may not have tracked a gallardo however i have spent the best part of the day putting 911's round bedford. Last time i checked the Gallardo is AWD mid engined and the 911 is RWD with the engine hanging behind and over the rear axle. Didnt spend anytime on the green in the gravel or wiping out armco's despite having the PSM switched off so I think I'll be ok in an AWD handicapped carriage ;)

And Chris i got your mail about liking boys and bumfun, you'll understand why i didnt reply I hope you didnt get offended.

i love driving with no aids. The problem with games is you cant feel what the car is underneath you to predict a slide all you've got to go on is the noise.
