Fpr sale prices affected by servicing...how much?

Basically just seen a car I want top buy but not really possible until Early next year....

The car needs the 36k service and MOT in march.

3 obvious options, but what would my car be worth at each:

1. Sell the car fully serviced and MOT'd etc, what price?

2. Sell the car in Feb with 12 months MOT but leave the service for the next owner. what price?

3. Sell the car now as it is, what price? (I have seen similar cars advertised for between £3.5k and £5k with similar miles at private)

The car is an 04 1.2 16v Dynamique in Black. 3 door, clicked onto 28k miles today, perfect condition inside, outside will be good when i get the bits of damage sorted out. At the minute it has Tax until December but will top that up, and MOT until march as said above.

Any help would be good please.

sell without the service IMO. anything makes it psychologically cheaper to a potential buyer is better. After all it doesn't compromise how its been cared for as its still got a FSH (i assume) until now.

would it be worth me selling it now though?
Thing is the money I would spend on the service would go on making the bodywork mint so mean it's more attractive in that sense.

Yeah has FRSH upto now, it's a spot on car to be honest, just a few dings and dents that make it look tatty!

Just say your training to be a mechanic and did the last service yourself, i can post you a reciept for some oil and a filter :quiet:

just to note, I won't be selling the car dodgy, I won't sell it as serviced if it isn't!

Lol, your not cut out for being a car dealer!

One I looked at:

Buyer: Has the car ever been in a crash?

Dealer: Sorry did you want tea or coffee?

Buyer: According to the service book this car hasn't been touched since 1997.

Dealer: They probably forgot to stamp the book.

haha, nah just like to be honest with stuff like this, never know who you're selling to!

can anyone answer the original 3 questions?!

In my view the depreciation of your car hasn't quite leveled out so your probably likely to get more for it by selling it now rather than in March. Having said that now is a s**t time to be selling a car this close to Christmas.
I will come round now with £3k cash if you want.

haha, make it £4.5k cash and you have a deal ;)

really don't know what it's worth though, just want to work out if it is worth spending money on it etc...

I'd advertise it to see what interest I could get in it, but then i've got my plate on it which needs to be sorted aswell, hmm!

Get the plate off, its going to have to come off anyway because you will definatly be selling it either now or early next year.

yeah, need to work out how much money im spending on christmas presents to see if i can afford it until after.

I reckon if I advertise next year for about £5k, then i can let the buyer knock a wedge off feeling good and leave me with a decent amount.

Id rather buy it with the service done, MOT done and taxed.

So if you're selling now, just get rid but selling it close to needed a service makes me think its going to be expensive or theyre going to find a problem.

You would sell it quicker with all the stuff done

You'll only get numpties with silly offers if you dont
