FREE EXHAUST CHECKING NEEDED

Would kwikfit or somewhere similer check my exhaust for free ? i have a sparky grumble like a rally car when i floor it in first,second,and third quite loud it is sounds nice but since i have the standard exhaust its not right and something has gone wrong somwhere it all started when the car wheelspun and couln't get grip so was just knocking as the cars wheels hit the road etc,
took my dad out in it he said sounds like the baffles have gone

i just want to get it checked out for peace of mind etc i am changing it for a ss cat back jan or feb money depending and want to know if its going to fall off or anything untill then i mean i can live with the sound i like it

but cannot afford to change the zorst at the min so looking for somewhere to check it for free make sure its not going to fall off or anything

no harm in asking although there's a danger they'll over-state the problem in an attempt to sell you a system

loose baffles shouldn't be a problem for a couple of months and there'll only be a danger of it falling off if any of the hangers and/or pipe/bracket welds have failed - all visible from underneath the car

ed. and the joints too!

yeh i had a look underneath all seams solid, i was praying it wasent the manifold as i can imagine it being hugely expense,

if the car is stood still and i rev it it sounds fine its when i moves it goes louder, i have covered the end of the exhaust to check for leaks and coulnt see one thats why my dad came up with the baffle prob

They'd tell you that you needed one even if it were brand new.

i took my zr there when i had it they pulled my pants down and popped in a receipt for £350.00 for a new manifold im hopeing its not the cat or anything but iv got no smoke or anything leaking its bizzare it seriously sounds like a sparky rally car

Check by the backbox, see if there are any signs of the pipe going into this (from the front) having corrosion. My Cup did this, this time last year...then it fell off!!!!!

Could also be the springs by the manifold, get it up on ramps and check the 2 springs where the manifold goes to the Cat. There is a kit you can get for 15-20 quid from Renault for this.

ats did for me, i gave him a fiver as i was in there for 15 mins or so. He even let me under the car to check exhaust mounts etc

just trying to eliminate all the costly parts lol

i'v heard if your cat goes there is black smoke or a eggy smell i'v none of this so looks ok, im prob panicking about nothing its just at the worst time of year lol

Just had the car into ATS who kindly checked my whole exhaust system for free but since its christmas i slipped the guy a fiver lol

results; middle box baffles have gone he knocked it and i could hear all the rust inside jumping about, rest of the exsaust ok no leaks,holes etc also said it looks solid and aint gonna fall off for years not bad for a 03 cup 33k on the clock,
im happy as im getting s ss system after chrimbo and can live with this untill then

why did you bothere getting it checked if you knew you were getting a new exhaust, or just to double check there wasnt anything else wrong with it?

i was a bit worried as my parents is a 60 mile round trip and i'll be going over there a few times in the next few days and i wanted to make sure it wasent going to fall off or anything,

i must admit ats were very good let me under the car to double check everything etc they basicly said dont worry about it lol
