Dunno, but "push" technology exists.
This seems like a bodged way to get push mail? Heh.

I was really close to starting a push mail service up myself.. I already do it for a friend (He has an iPhone and one of my servers pushes his mail out.. IMAP, so all mail is the same on his laptop, PC, and phone etc. )

Its rubbish.

Gmail IMAP ftw

It does push on my K810i and P1i. (and the k850i)
Even my .mac mail does it.

Plus with gmail you can get it to check other accounts.
