front end of exhaust?

Hi gents

Im s**t with cars and some of you may laugh but I was under my car today and I have a hole in the front end of the exhaust.

Its the bit that comes from the engine, has a box on it and then a jubilee clip holding it to the tailpipe.

Can someone tell my the name of this piece please

Centre Box or the Cat?

From what I understand it is the cat. Its a standard exhaust with three boxes on it. One at the rear, one centre of the car and then the front box (cat I believe)

If it's the cat it should stink, if it has a hole in it. Does it have a cable going into the whole? or is this a lol @ the Lamda sensor is missing?

It is the cat mate.. i took it down the garage!!

F***ing 140 quid just for the part!!

140 is cheap. Renault would quote nearer 4 figures.

Cat2u are the cheapest, they are around the £100 mark and sometimes under.

Pic of the hole? should make a right racket with a hole in it, should sound like a touring car.
