Front strut compression nut question

Hi guys,
I've got a trophy and just had my dampers refurbed by BG.
I've just refit the springs and done up the compression nut at the top of the strut but was wondering how far people screwed it?
When I took the springs off, one was screwed to about and inch and the other much less.

What would people recommend?

There's probably a torque setting but that's for gays, I just banged mine on with an air gun as tight as they would go. Same length on each though?

Just did that today (fitted CUP springs on standard 182 shocks). I could screw them to the end. You can do it if you have spring compressor.

Just facepalmed myself, yep as far as it goes nipped up tight
