Front windscreen washers not squirting, back ones fine

My front windscreen washers have stopped working! The back one works fine but front completely dead. They were working fine and just stopped. Since they stopped they have worked once for only a five second burst then stopped again. Anyone got any ideas?

My car is a Y plate Clio Expression 1.2 16V, Ive posted this in another thread but wanted a dedicated one incase others are having same problems.

It's the motor, there is a bar which moves side to side with rubber on each end.

The bar moves side to side depending on whether you are operating the front or rear. Hover the rubber gets jammed on one side. This is repairable. You need to take the motor apart and trim the rubber a little and then it will work fine.

cheers iPap, where's this bar? Is it near the screen wash reservoir? Could be a pain as I see the tubes are all under a plastic grill thing.

located it but how do i get to it, the tubes are hidden under a plastic grille which is the length of the car!

Either remove the wiper arms to get the scuttle panel off, or just lift it up carefully without snapping it.

If you are getting the wiper arms off, soak the nuts and the join between the rod and the arm in WD40 the night before. Once the arms are off the rest to get the panel off is simple. You'll see the motor, pull it out, and don't loose the rubber grommit between the motor and the bottle, don't push it into the bottle when your replacing the motor either, you'll have to get the bottle out if you do.
