Front wing colours

Does anyone else's front wings appear a slightly different colour to the rest of the body? I've got a silver 51 plate 172, and just recently I've noticed a bit of a difference (normally at night if parked near a street lamp).

I've put it down to the wings being plastic and therefore a different type of paint, but now I starting to worry there might have been some accident replacement work doen earlier in it's life......

Any thoughts?

Yep its two tone lol
Thought it was a dodgy spray job at first.
Its probably something to do with the type of plastic.

In Dialogys theres special instructions for painting the plastic wings so could be a side effect of the preperation or something.

i was told its becuase of the temperature of the material which affects the way in which it colours finally after drying. The metal is colder than the plastic and the same goes for bumpers which are also a slightly different colour. however i could have been told wrong ;)

paint is same, no matter waht material it goes on, its the primer that is different for plastics.

its because its on a different substrate, ie plastic. most of the time its not noticable on cars, as its usually the bumpers, which are low down, or havent got big enough areas of colour to compare.

nowt can be done unfortunatly!

unless of course your car has had a prang, and the colour match was poo!!
