Front wipers sweep once whenever engine is turned over - why?

Whenever I start the car, the front wipers do one sweep of the windscreen and I have no idea why? The automatic wipers are turned to position 0, but even when on shouldn't do this. It's only happened in the last few months, and has got progressively worse up to now where it does it every single time. This is increasingly annoying with the better weather and dry morning windsceen.

The car is still under warranty but I though I'd check here first to see if anyone has had similar problems or knows how to solve it?

sounds like it hasnt canceled the wipers even tho you have put the stalk back, sounds electrical... prob best to get reno to have a look under warrenty
