Doesn't remote start affect insurance? IIRC

I have the clifford concept 650 with dual prox+blackjax - 450 fitted :)

it shouldnt do as the car is still locked and you still need to put the key in the ignition for it to go

Probably depends on insurance company at the end of the day but on the Clifford manuals it points out that the remote functions aren't "Thatchem Approved"

I'll ask about it over the weekend as I know a guy who has it on a Williams - the only Williams I know of in N.Ire :star:

The imobiliser has to be unlocked for the engien to start though so the cars infact unloked just the doors are unlokced.
The problem legally is that you cannot under the road traffic act leave a car running with nooone sitting in the drivers seat on a public highway. If you start your engine when your not in it then you could be prosicuted plus since its illegal no insurance compnay would cover you when you install the alarm as its illegal to be able to use or have the feature. To have it installed you have to leave an imobilier in there which will let the alarm unlock the cars imobililser ie sort of like leaving your car keys in the car. Inssurance companies are starting to refuse tro pay when people leave there keys in the car and there are stollen etc.
