funny noise coming from the radio/CD player when I switch it on

It last for a couple of seconds when I switch the Radio/CD plaer on, It is as if a mechanism is jammed, or something stuck in there! But it all works fine, the cd radio, every button ect. But this strange sound coutinues to come from it, it's not everytime though? Any idea?

have you been putting copy cd's in it, mine did that a few times then shut up.

Is it the standard Renault h/u, and a kind of ticking sound? Mine did that bascially means its on the way out, stick a cleaning disk in there though and the sound goes away for a few days, thats what I did just before I sold the car lol!

Yes it is the original Renault one, and yes it is a ticking sound , new cd player on the way by the sounds of it!

mine does exactly the same, sounds like a clicking nose last approx 3-4 secs then goes off.

Doesn't it do it when there's no cd in and its like checking or something? Sure i've heard mine do it once but its always got a cd in now and never done it since.
