Mine did something similar mate, the cable had snapped inside near the rubber bit connected to the machine itself and If you move it slightly it will fire back up, worth a look to see if its that?
My Dad fitted a new cable and its fine again
Checked the warranty on it?
Drop Megs a message. Mine broke a couple of weeks ago... messaged them saying what the fault was. They asked where I bought it from and the serial number... i lied and said it was a gift (when really i bought it 2nd hand from here ) within a week they'd collected my broken one and given me a brand new one in replacement.
Number ? im lazi i know !!
0870 241 6696, Want me to phone them as well?
Aye why not :rasp:
Mine broke too, they replaced it no questions asked! Top service!
If it's one of the early models you've got there was a common fault with the switches.
99/100, with things like this, it'll be a cable fault or a switch fault. Worth a look yourself imho.
PMSL, Im on my 4th now, which is also on it's last legs, i have tape wrapped around the unit with the cable in place, if i bend the cable at the connection point, it works.
Im currently using the S1M, wish i'd of got one sooner. Ive been doing a car recently with it and its been fantastic, working time is decreased for compounding and IMO the finishing results are way better. there is a lot of heat build up though, and when compounding i find the pad can jump all over the place before you know what your doing. I went back and used the G220 for one section and i couldnt believe how piss poor it was, the only real benefit is that its easy to use. Go careful on the s**t renault paintwork though.
I really want a mikita but dont think i have the funds to do it. I will also be using the G220 on my bumper and plastic bits also, dont want to rip the paint off the pannels.
