Garmin i3 Mapping UPDATE

Wow ,

I am pleased to say that I have managed to update my Map, on my Garmin i3 unit - from v7 to v8 FREE OF CHARGE!!! Not sure if anyone else has managed to do this, but if you haven't and you want to know how to - then post a reply in this thread. I will then post you step by step details on how to obtain the v8 map for your Garmin product, for FREE!

All you need to do, is the following:

You do not need to phone Garmin. All Garmin i3 owners are eligible for the v8 upgrade.

Post your small memory card in 1 envelope, and put another envelope inside with your address on (not a SAE as Garmin pay the return postage), to:

i3 Upgrade
FREEPOST
Garmin

They returned my card via 1st class.

They quoted 5 working days to return. I got mine back in 4 days. It came back via 1st class post, in a small plastic case. I have heard of someone else getting theirs in 2 days. But it depends on how busy they are.

^ Nope!

Only Garmin can do this for the end user. It's a bit of fuss I know, but then again it's best to get the v8 map - then you know you got the latest version.
