gasket sealant!

im slightly confused if youre meant to use this stuff or not!

im replacing the Stat housing gasket, Oil breather gasket (£60 from renault! :O ) the waterpump and the sump gasket

i was wondering am i supposed to use sealant as well as the gasket provided, or is that stuff just a bodge some garages use to get around using correct gaskets!?

You don't need both

You could have just used sealant on the oil breather instead of buying the gasket. The renault manual for the ph1 uses sealant rather than the gasket.

FFS why do i try and do things properly!! ive already bought the gaskets!!

wanted to know if i had to use sealant still!

can someone confirm that the paper gasket that comes with a waterpump is all thats needed, and no extra sealant is required?!
