My neighbour has given me his laptop to look at.. model MX6932b. Its fooooked basically gets to xp loading screen then BSOD won't boot into anything safe mode etc... Put the stop code into the microsoft support site and it turns out a virus may have curropt the bootsector.
The problem is I can't even resinstall XP on it.. if I try a fresh install with XP cd it doesn't detect the sata harddrive (tried pressing F6 when booting from cd but I can't put the drivers in as it has no floppy drive)
So I tried the gateway restore thing by hitting F11 its asking me to put in system restore cd (which the owners doesn't have)
I can't see how I can get a fresh install on to it??
