price £676.60 + VAT

Looks lovely - what I want to see though, is an uprated engine mount kit, What do you think, I bet you would sell loads.

Richy

  EK9 + Mfactory gearing..
nice to see another 172 kit m8! can you use any pads with these or is it wilwood fit only? & if you have hoses & brembo discs already what does this reduce the cost by? how would you compare the stopping power to say pf pads & standard setup Andy? so many q's as always! ;-)

  182, SRT8, RS4, GT-R
Only for 172 Andy? Anything inline for the 182?? I'm gonna need stopping power with TB's!!

  Clio 172 mk2
Great looking kit

I think I'd have to be really giving the car a hammering to warrant buying one though:D

Depends but I love these tyre of brakes much better than any ds2500 replacment pads.
They'll fir any 172 or 182.

  Audi A6 (S3 on order)
What AP solution is that ?

They are bit to expensive IMHO for wilwood when you can get a brembo or AP 308mm(2piecedisc) solution which fits under a 16" wheel for under a grand..

all the big brake kits for the rs are expensive, shed motorsport also have a kit out soon not many details yet tho, im not justifying the cost but to get somewhere to make up brackets for some random calipers is more than £50 i would think.

Willwood capilers are max 350...
Pads are less than 50
discs are 55
Hoses 50
Braket 50

550 at rrp prices

Hang on let me put my finger in the air and put down some figures for what I think the kit should cost.

EVO investigate how much it would cost to get a 4 pot setup on a 172/182 and maybe then you would be able to put something that would add value to the discussion.

If you dont want it dont buy it.

P.S. Are your prices inclusive of the VAT ;)

Yes all include VAT...if i quoted trade prices they would be a lot cheeper...Just giving my opinion which is valid and based on facts...

You can get 4pot AP's for the Elise as an upgrade using std discs for less than 600quid.

Godspeed do the ap and brembo both for under a grand..

Ross had them on his car. http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=96716&highlight=pot

Its 950 for Brembo 4pots / 2 piece discs / pads etc or 995 for the Ap's.

Im seriously thinking of opening up may own distribution company for car stuff as working in the automotive industry and having loads of contact its amazing what Joe blogs gets charged..(general comment that applies to all sellers)

we dont actually make much on that kit tbh

its certainly more than £50 to get that really nice braket CNC machined....

of course someone with trade contacts will always be able to get it that bit cheaper...

godspeeds kit does come in under £1000 just... and uses the brembo (heavy) calipers...

(we used to use them some time ago...) - same as ross's old kit

the wilwoods are very lightweight and dust sealed... they are also smaller than the brembo so will work with std discs.. (as above)

anyhow... they are available as a mid priced upgrade for the 172/182.... and yes there is a set going on our 182 as I am impressed with calipers.

I applaud all tuners offering option on upgrades but the Willwoods are a budget caliper. For an extra 190 pounds you get AP's and 308mm 2 piece discs..Im suprised the kit is so expensive.

The AP are basically the same price as the Brembo's and these are ali and very light.....probabley the best suitable road caliper you can buy really.

I agree they seem very expensive however I had Willwood none dust sealed on the Williams and they were fine for road use amsome brakes and with the group buys gettng prices down to under £500 including disk for Williams/1.8/an other none RS cars cars I cannot belive there are so much more.
As to regards the calipers cheapness I never had trouble wist I'd kept the caliper for my car they were stunning but i'd never have paian an extra £190 for AP calipers its 50% more almost for no difference nothinjg more i could want.

comments noted....

if we buy a larger qty of calipers its possible to get the price down..

so a group buy option is of course the way to get this price better...

I dont think so, I will double check... as I am not 100% on the range of pads that will fit.

  GDI Demo 182, Rsi Spider
very true ross.

less flex i would have thought..

the brembos are indeed very good.... the main reason for the wilwoods was the size so we could use them with the std disc.

its pretty impressive and to be honest looks bloody good :)

still bedding them in but after a swift blast from gdi back to scotland they seem a lot better than standard and are worth every penny.

money well spent!
