we have wire ringed the block on this engine to facilitate turbo charging at a later date

piper fast road cams and verniers so the exhuast timing can be adjusted for turbo charging

gasflowed and ported

honed bores (not with emery)

lightened flywheel

full engine balance

ah!!!! gotcha... that is just there once the engine is built up, just before I lift it up with the crane... otherwise is on the bench or on the propper stand.....

Just wondering how big your bays are.........just an idea on the size of your business as i cant really see from the pics.

If its all yourself and maybe 2 bays then double bonus points to you!

Just wondering about your work loads thats all, cause you always seem quite busy.

No worries if you feel like im prying, just generally interested.

got space for about 10 cars... 4 main bays.... 2 minor....

engine building area.. (clean area)

greasy area for suspension etc etc...

its just me mainly... and some part time staff.... full time soon if it keeps on like it is at the moment....

andy is that gt turbo lightened flywheel? wat sorta mass is that now? i no the standard 16v fly weighs in at about 5.5kgs

nope, they dont fit.... its a 16v one that has had about half the weight taken out.... I say about...... it is noticably lighter in the hand as well as when your driving....

its not gunna make the idle dead lumpy is it? ive got wild cams and head work on the willy lump and it can chug sometimes, dont want it being real bad, as i no a ligthened flywheel can have that effect

idle is not really a problem, the engine response it much better.... you do need to use more revs on pulling away though....



the downside of any engine mods like cams and lightening is of course it wont be as smooth as a standard car... but IMO that is well outweighed by the extra go.
