Gear linkage gaitor perished...

Hi guys.

Was under my car a few days ago and noticed a bush on the join of the gear selector that is Knackered!

I'm pretty sure it's this: http://www.renaultpartsdirect.co.uk...category_id=51&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1

Would this cause movement in gear stick, and the odd sticky gear change??

Would you advice I replace it or can I just leave it?

The picture its just a rubber boot to protect it from dirt,

But if there is a worn bush then yes that could cause a bit of sticky gear change if its well worn

Ah ok. It's just the bit that's pictured that's Knackered so if its not that important then I won't bother. Lol

well its not the most important thing but there is usually grease in there and if its a small hole should be fine but if its split open and if left overtime then could get filled with dirt and cause stiff gear linkage,
i would just use some glue or sealant to close the hole and its fixed
ofc make sure theres some grease in there too
