Gear surround

Hi, have an '02 dCi and the surround for the gear stick gaiter is lifting out of the recess. It doesn't seem to want to stay clipped in.

Any ideas on a way to fix it down? Was going to use superglue but it'd probably be a pain should I ever need to remove it.

if you bend it hard enough the front end clips in under the bit that it should normally go in, il take a picture of mine tomorrow when its light mate.

it doesnt look pretty but is a temporary fix

glued mine back in place mate, the clip nearest handbrake broke so it was a choice of glue or screws

Just got myself a genuine replacement for 9 quid on ebay. Just make sure you buy the one with clips!

mine has the same problem, the clip nearest to the handbrakes broken! but iv seemed to have pushed it all the way looks horrible but stays in place! how do i take the gearknob off? it doesnt seem to twist?

£7 from dealers...and thats the leatheresque material, the clips as well. Well, it was £7 before price increase, but still under tenner. I don't know part number, but any dealer should have it on their stock list.

You don't need to touch gearknob...its held on with cable tie round the bottom of the lift reverse mechanism...that comes with new one...2 minute fix. Honestly.

If in doubt cut the old one off.

Needs serious power to get that gear knob off.

£8.27 from my local stealers...had to purchase a new one after the old one popped its clips!
