Gearbox Oil change! Do It!

  R35 GTR
Downchanges seem to slide in much better now!

Castrol Syntrax 75w-90 Gear Oil 4Litres semi-syn GL4/5 £37.95

Not cheap, but the gearchanges are much much smoother. Not given it any beans yet.

How do you change the oil on a 172/182 mate ?

Or more to the point, where is the drain plug and fill plug ?

Does the fill and drain plugs use any special square sockets ?

mate works for renault, get discounted services/less the labour etc... had my 'box oil changed a lot earlier than required by the stealers... cost less than buying the oil myself, and made absolutely NO difference!

there is a good guide in the guides section. But essentially its the same square 8mm bit for the sump plug.

I got a flexi funnel and jammed some pipe in the bottom to get it into the hole easily.

Theres a good guide made by dan in the guides section. IMO it should be changed every 40k.

i'm always quite careful, but before i changed it i used to get a bang getting back on the gas, but the new bush completely stopped it. definately worth doing!
