Gearbox oil change?

Hi guys,

I have a slight crunch at high revs when changing from 2nd into 3rd and was wondering whether it was worth changing the gearbox oil or is it something more serious?

Check the level of the oil- if it's low it could have been a contributor to the crunch, but no, i very much doubt it'll fix it.
3rd gear synchro is the usual culprit here, and will be fixed by a box refurb.

I had a slight crunch changing up about 6,500 rpm, I changed the gearbox oil and it's fine now.

I had the same so I got box gearbox refurbed by agency transmissions. Was £275 and its come back sweet.

I had it going into 4th from 3rd, changed my clutch and it's now sweet as anything.

Might well change the oil then and see if that helps...not that its a major issue at the mo as i only notice it on the track rather than any road use.

Cheapest option first. Get good quality oil from say opie oils and try that.

synchro's on way out on third, you could try an oil change and might be lucky. other than that just change into third a bit slower.
