gearbox probs 1.8 16v

hi having problems with gearbox in car
you can move gearlever through gears but it is stuck in gear all the time
even in neutral as soon as you lift foot off clutch car will stall
can anyone help

gear linkage could be broken/detached?

get underneth and get someone to change gear, should be fairly obvious if somethings flapping about, and you should hear it selecting the gears

Must be stuck in 3rd or 5th if it keeps stalling when you try and pull off.
Hit any speed bumps or rocks in the road lately?
Have to look underneath as above mate.
