how do i get the gearknob off? does it just twist off?

i'm not using vice grips on an alloy gearknob it will ruin it

Bit of advice. give up right now. I tried for ages, heating it up, twisting, hammering, the works. Doesnt budge. Atleast mine didnt.

I never got it off i just took the whole linkage out and its still upstairs now after all this time.

your better off buying a second hand linkage as it will probably never come off.

That alloy one sucks all the heat out of your hand on a cold morning, Fancy a nice leather fella.

Hack saw, old one was fucked.

New one went on in its place.

i remember seeing that he should start selling them they would be a fantastic seller!! my gear knob is f**king frozen when its this cold
