hell do you get them off a 2001 Clio to fit a replacement?? Ive seen cars like mine with aftermarket knobs fitted, but Ive been trying for months and its stuck fast! Im scared to use a heavy mechanical device of any nature to shift it cos the whole damn gearknobs pretty flimsy! Anyone had any success? Dosserdom, I think your Clios the same as mine and about the same age, have you replaced your gearstick?

I think its bonded on, so its a hacksaw jobby or you could try a hairdryer!!!

Fred, what do you do with the hairdryer, give it a whack or warm it up?

warm it up to soften any glue, good for de-badging too!

I got a big pair of grips and crushed it a little bit and then turned to break the bonding agent.

If you get a MOMO gear knob it has three small grub srecws that grip the shaft (oooeerrrr!!!!!)
