Geeks Q For my laptop

I might be being a total nob here, but i have a problem with my lap top For some reason when i press shift 3 for eg a pound sign, it comes up with a hash? Same with loads of other keys not being whats wrote on them (when shift key is pressed) Now, have i just changed something, like a hot key set up for example? Or has it contracted bad aids?

it's on us keyboard setup, you should be able to change it in control panel>regional and language settings, click on keyboards and hardware tab and then change keyboards (for Vista anyway)

You have fucked it! I pressed and hel down shift the other day and really fucked the job up, it took me about half an hour to navigate to system restore! The mouse keys and everything went tits up! Has it recently started doing it?

mine has done this a few times, and it has had something to do with it changing to the american keyboard setup.

If it's XP, look along the task bar for an "EN", click it and it should give you the options of "English (United Kingdom)" or "English (United States)" select "English (United Kingdom)" and you're sorted.
