Generic 'what to use' thread...

I've neglected the cleaning side of the car for a while now and, as this detailing game moves on so quickly, I was fancying some advice as to what products I should look to for each part of the process...

I'm currently in the Sonus shampoo and Autoglym SRP/EGP combo with P21 carnuba stage, but have been for over 12 months now!

The overall aim is to get maximum gloss and reflection out of what will hopefully be a dark colour paint, with each stage looking to spend no more than £15, and up to £30 on the final wax...

Cant go wrong with SRP and EGP only ballache is the EGP not being as easy to use as products such as Jeffs Acrylic Trigger that will do the same job in much less time 3 coats of the Jeffs AJT in the time one coat of EGP takes.

Wax wise again P21s looks great on dark colours just does not last, not really an issue over a decent sealant. On that budget if you do want to upgrade fine an extra 9 quid and get a pot of Swissvax Onyx. Two cheaper alternatives would be something like Dodo Purple Haze or Chemical Guys 50/50 but neither look quite as good as the Onyx.

Shampoos in Bulk and cost effective Megs Hyper Wash or Shampoo plus or Duragloss Wash.

Shampoo: Duragloss 901-cheap and leaves an excellent finish
Polish: I'd probably just stick with SRP by hand or if your up for some hard work you could try some Menz on a german apalicator, but its probably not worth it.

On the LSP front, i personally would add the £15 you intend on spending on a sealant to your £30 budgeted for a wax and buy Swissvax Onyx or one of the Dodos.

Where's the best place to bulk buy Duragloss or Hyper Wash?

Either of you got any pics of an Onyx finish on dark colours?

You can't buy the Duragloss in bulk...not to my knowledge anyway, but it can be had from serious performance, and the hyperwash from CYC.

Duragloss from Alex at SP he sells it in a US Gallon which is around 3 litres as is the Megs, most traders including Alex sell the Megs Hyper Wash and Shampoo Plus.
