Geo setup newbie

Well im a big newbie when it comes to this geo setup ect. Iv just fitted kw konisports coilovers to my 172 now iv got 195/50/16s .im looking at getting a geo setup but Havant got a clue what to have done settings wise.
Now im also going to be buying a whiteline arb will this effect the settings ? Any help at all will be great thanks

Few things. Where are you from? What do you use the car for, track or road or a bit of both? The whiteline won't affect the settings just your wallet lol

I live near liverpool and im building it to be my track car with road use every so often i.e drive to track and couple of random blast ect.

Ah ok. I recommend a couple of places to set the car up, one in Cheshire and one in Preston. Anyway my current set up is -1 neg camber and twelve degrees of toe out and seems to work. If I was doing more trackdays I would run more camber.

Ok pal il have a look into them and cheers for the advise. I need to raise the car ect first to get it sitting right .

Yeah a bit low lol. My advice for what it's worth is take it to a good garage to be set up properly, not saying you can't do it but you would be surprised a few quid spent can do

Have you made that lower than what I sent them to you?

Surprised the wheel turns? You use be rubbing on the bumper brackets.

Not many places will be about to do a geo setup on a car that low. Needs to come up 30-50mm.

Is that even getting the ride height set up ?? Im waiting for spacers but my pet hate is wheel scrubbing so i really want to make sure i get no rubbibg

Thats as i got them sent danny lol ,going to raise it up in the morning. It scrubs like made. I drove it twenty foot and had to stick it back on the drive haha

Getting ride height correct for equal weight all round, bit overkill for road car. Cos of general day to day s**t in your car.

Never experienced corner weighting before and after so dunno if it's worth it. I would probably say no unless your absolutely pushing the limits of your car on track.

A fast road set up is a must though after fitting new coilovers. Raise them and get them set-up properly. Should cost you about a ton for that all in. Corner weight I would suspect an extra 60 but only specialists have scales not Freddies Tyres round the corner.

Get your car to a ride height where your happy i.e no scrubbing. A bit of rake nose down get the weight on the front wheels. when your happy with that, get it corner weighted then the geo setup.

Mild track setup. 3 degrees front, 2.5 rear with 1mm toe out on front and depending if you want it loose or tight at the rear then get it toeing out or parallel at the rear. The whiteline will give you some adjustment for steering from the rear. Wherever you choose to use, have a discussion with them, if they can't advise setup from how you like the car to drive then you should look elsewhere.

Toe is normally done in minutes then obviously 60mins in a degree.

Just a quick question. How would -2.4 be on the road, as my car is running this from previous owner and feels pulls around on bump roads.

..hmmm, i'd say that's a little more than 'MILD'.

I would agree a little more than wild with treaded tyres looking back but if its handling your wanting then needs must. They come with 1 or 1.5 or something standard. 3 degrees is a mild slick setup

If its pulling, most likely tracking needs done. 2.5 should be fine on the road, doing loads of road miles with stiff walled 888's or a048's etc then you will have to swap tyres to get a good life from them.

Well I am guessing the tracking will need setting up again anyway as I had the ball joints, TREs and full polybush setup done.

Well it was doing it before but the ball joints were shot. On another note I have a whiteline arb should I fit this before I get the geo setup?
