Getting that little bit more?!?!

Car  Clio 1.4 16v
Hi all, got a 1.4 16v with a full scorpion stainless system

Without telling me to buy a 182 (insurance already £1900!!) what can I do to get a little bit more from my engine, i've bin offered a superchip for 200 notes fitted.

not quite sure yet with a holiday coming up, price up a few things 1st and do a bit of a cost/benefit analysis, what sort of gains would I get with different mods?? and how expensive r they?

not cheaper when you consider the insurance!! its high cuz the postman wrote my car off!!

But you are going to need to declare the mods anyway, which will probably knock it up higher then moving up to a bigger engine..

I'm only 19, think i'm gonna w8 a couple of yrs b4 even enquiring about insurance on a 182, oh and by the way, how long do you have to declare claims for??

dusn't make sense?? then was that an answer?? head blag!! to clarify, I had a total loss claim, how long do I have to declare that on my insurance?

depends on the insurance company , with regards to getting more power the 1.4 isnt much down on the 1.6 you could try a superchip hell i would at that price

Cheers jon, most ppl have told me 2 not bother but at 200 notes i think its worth a try, then hopefully it will be at same level as 1.6.

Also the garage said that i'd be a fool to declare a chip on insurance as they are never going to trace it inless they get it on a dyno
