Ditched the TT conversion, just dont get the time to spend on it and also the cash needed for it.
Car was going to waste so have got a 182 lump with the clio cup set up on it with no power steering, so the only load on the engine is the alternator and waterpump.
Ditched the AC as well.
Steering is slightly heavy but the feel is great and feels like a go cart.
Just waiting for the decat to arrive now.

Have a load of stuff going on ebay, and have no doubt ile get more than what i have spent back so only thing lost is time.

I know what you mean about lacking time fella! It'll be more than quick enough to have fun in with that set-up anyway.

Looks good with the CF bonnet too!

about time mike... i remember beginning of last year you talking about the TT engine, hopefully all goes to plan ;)

In hindsight is ditching the pas a good idea?
Have u had it up to speed yet?

Thinking of possibly doing this, not sure if it will be worth it or wheather id regret ditching it.

have you got an extra pulley on that cup bracket or something?

At the moment have mounted a makeshift cambelt Idler bearing to the bolt hole that hold the PS pump in place and it works very well, but have the proper puley on order from Renault.

Part Number

ROLLER RENAULT

PULLEY
Part number : 8200170009

£116.65+vat

with the above pulley you need to run a 5 rib belt rather than the 6 rib belt that is normally fitted.

Anyway its all done now and back on the road, I personally love the feel of the steering, and performance is ace and made a lot of difference.

can't remember, i just ran a piece of string round the pullies and measured it, i think it was 88cm off the top of my head (plus a bit to allow for the tension adjustment on the cup alternator)

my 1.2 16v cup conversion uses a shorter belt as it has electronic pas

cup racers are the same as they have an electonic PAS pump under the scutle pannel

just use a shorter belt and bypass the PAS completely???

^cup set up with the PAS pump bypassed

thats exactly what i've done (and beaniemoo) on the mk1, used a different alt bracket setup though from another model rather than the cup brackets and used mk1 alternator :D
